Established nine years ago, Posyandu Lansia was created to support elderly residents by providing a dedicated space for health services, wellbeing activities and community gatherings. Over the years, it has become an important part of community life in Bontang Kuala.

Sanjeev met members of the community and saw how the centre continues to be used and maintained almost a decade after it was established.

What stands out most is the condition of the facility and the level of community ownership. Posyandu Lansia remains active, well cared for and continues to serve the people it was built for.

It’s a great example of of a successful community project that has become part of everyday life, which— it continues to support the health, wellbeing and connection of elderly residents in Bontang Kuala.
