PT Kaltim Nitrate Indonesia commitment to the safety, work health, and well-being of our employees and customers, the environment, and the communities in which we operate underlies everything we do. In all our actions and interactions, Safety is our Priority. Always. Our main purpose is to make sure everyone goes home safe to their families every day. We are constantly looking for ways to minimize the impact of our activities on the environment, understanding our responsibilities and obligations in regards to sustainability.

Safety Security

We must continue to push for exceptional safety, health and environment performance every day. We continued the disciplined implementation of our safety standards. Our Serious Injury Case Rate (SICR). This is a very big milestone of safety performance achievement. We have continued to improve and refine our safety leadership interaction program, incident investigations, and controls to manage fatal risks through the implementation of Key Control Verification of each Major Hazard Scenario at site.

We continue to strengthen our safety leadership and culture by educating our people about safety hazards, by being mindful of the possibility of what could go wrong and creating a culture where it is safe to speak up and report hazards and incidents.

Work Health

We recognise that activities at site can affect the health of our people. We set clear requirements with mandatory controls to manage and protect the health and wellbeing of our employees and contractors by following the global standards and Indonesian Health Regulations.

There was no reported occupational illness during the year, and all industrial hygiene monitoring performance this year was very good, not exceeding the maximum Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL), which has been set by the Indonesian Government.

We have implemented screening measures at entry to our operational sites, including app-based questionnaires and temperature screening, reduced capacity in offices and buses, in support of physical distancing and increased hygiene practices.

When people display relevant symptoms, we implement response plans and evacuate them for testing, isolation, and provide them with medical care. We also implement a new health protocol system for conducting health assessment for new contractors and visitors entering the site.
